I am quite confused by the offer, too. Their web site has a “Free,” “Lite,” and “Professional” edition, not a “PHP Edition.” What is included with our “PHP” edition, and how much would it cost for us to upgrade to the Professional Edition. Fact is, their web site does not disclose an upgrade cost, but one may infer that costs $60. From an earlier reviewer’s comment, it seems as if adding a feature like Drupal support is possible, albeit confusing, with this PHP edition. If it is at least “possible,” that’s one thing, but we would like to know for certain if adding CMS or other features is feasible, or if those are absolutely fee-only upgrades. Thanks for offering this product either way.

SO, a few updates after deciding to install it and see. AFTER agreeing to install the software, there is finally a disclosure that should, frankly, be on the main page: “This giveaway is of CodeLobster PHP Edition’s Lite version, which normally costs $39.95. However, you will see a 15-day trial for the plugins feature because plugins is a feature of the Pro version, which is not part of this giveaway.” Well, that kills the hope that Drupal or other features are free.

I missed that critical information because SharewareOnSale rarely buries such important information on that page, but mostly supplies installation information. The good/bad news is that no license code is needed for the installation, so you don’t need to jump through hoops. The BAD news is that I cannot find any place where the Registration Name and Registration License for this free Lite version can be found. Without that critical information, the Codelobster web site will NOT allow me to buy an individual feature upgrade (plugin), NOR will it disclose a price for upgrading to Professional!

The initial SharewareOnSale promotion for this giveaway is, frankly, misleading. It describes the offer as if the features like “Drupal CMS, Joomla CMS, …” are all included, BUT, in fact, the giveaway only has 15-day demonstration use, AND, at this point, no clear way — nor disclosed cost — to upgrade to those features. Most other companies are fully up front with the cost of upgrading to their full or advanced versions for us Shareware fans. Most offer us a discounted path for upgrading, too, which is an appreciated incentive for us to become a full, paying customer.

Guys, please give us the necessary information to make full use of this gift! Use of this software for demonstration purposes is appreciated, BUT we need a bit more information to really become a Codelobster customer, and you are making that hard.

    Hi,

On the download page is stated that:
“there is no need to register it, we register it automatically after you download it from us”
    Downloaded and installed successfully, but…
when asked to register it asks for Name and Serial…
    Did I miss something?

Uh, why not tell the truth that this really a SHAREWARE offer? Got rid of it when I realised that this was a fake offer! Used Revo Pro (paid for after they made it CLEAR that what I was downloading from them was a TRIAL version of PRO with a lite version for free. Yes I bought a 3 user license because they have a good product and were honest and clearly upfront about their offer and HONEST about it. It seems you don’t seem to know what that means…see the previous sentence and learn something because I won’t do business with a company that starts out with deceptive conduct in my humble opinion. You will never get a dollar from me for anything!

    Have a nice day :-(
