Firstly, I would like to deeply apologize for any inconvenience this issues may have caused and please be informed that this is the first Beta of CryptoBuster so there will be likely several software issues.
Regarding the error “Unable to start the CryptoBuster service.”; this may be due to an unhandled exception that occurred when starting the CryptoBuster service, or the software installer was unable to create the service in the first place.
Please make sure that there are no errors that occurred during the software installation, and your anti-virus software did not interfere with the CryptoBuster installer – CryptoBuster is relatively new software that is why security solutions will likely flag it as malicious –
To narrow down the causes of this error:
1. Make sure that the CryptoBuster service was successfully created by opening the CMD then typing the following command
sc query cryptobustersvcIf the service was successfully installed, there would be information related to the service, otherwise the error message “The specified service does not exist as an installed service.”
2. Make sure that your anti-virus software is not blocking CryptoBuster.
3. Enable the CryptoBuster Debug Mode that will give us more details about this error:
a. Open the Registry Editor (Type regedit in the Run dialog box).
b. Paste the following registry location Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Smart PC Utilities\CryptoBuster .
c. Create a new DWORD-32 value and name it DebugMode and set its value to 1 .
d. Make sure that CryptoBuster is not running.
e. Start CryptoBuster, and after the error message close the application.
f. In the File Explorer, navigate to C:\ProgramData\Smart PC Utilities\CryptoBuster\Logs .
g. Send all generated log files to us (Via support ticket or [email protected]).4. Get more error details from the Event Viewer
a. Open the Event Viewer (Type eventvwr in the Run dialog box).
b. Select Windows Logs > Application .
c. Select all events with Source of Windows Error Reporting, Application Error, .NET Runtime, and CryptoBuster .
d. Right click on the selected events, and click Save Selected Events.
e. Export the selected events as evtx file and send it to use.BreMMGuestSo this is not even a properly tested finished program but just a Beta? Holy shnikeys.
[@Smart PC Utilities] No offense but guiding users through the Windows registry to generate some silly debug logs sounds hilarious. You should overthink how that works and implement a simple button in the programs own settings to accomplish that.
I don’t even want to try this “software” after reading it is just a Beta, lol. I’m not a Beta-tester.
But thanks for the offer.
BreMMGuestAlso i don’t know who exactly is to blame that “Beta” is not mentioned anywhere on the offer page but i think that is critical information that SHOULD be put somewhere for everyone to see clearly. Not everyone wants to waste his time with “Beta” software nor deal withj consequences due to it being Beta.
So Ashraf, if you read this, maybe think anout it, it could aswell be that the vendor didn’t even give this pieve of information but like i said, i don’t know who is to blame for that info missing.
BreMMGuestExcuse my typos, i was in a rush mode but then again.. xD
