During installation create a desktop icon. Click on that.

HELP-LICENSE-Enter license number sent to you-Activate

You should get a message it was activated.

Interesting program that will take a bit of time to configure.

Thank you for giving us this one to try.

Can someone please tell me if this program permanently alters the context menu in any way, AND can it be “turned off & on” easily by the user by either enabling/disabling or loading/unloaded the program. Experience has shown me playing around with the context menu is dangerous and can cause lots of problems. I’ve spent many hours trying to unpick changes made by programs that try and do fancy things with the context menu!

You can disable or enable “FileMenu Tools” by selecting TOOLS/Settings from the menu after running the software.
Upon installing the actual “FileMenu Tools” is in a sub directory of it’s own in the context menu away from the other context menu settings, although if you want you can change that to on or off from TOOLS/Settings depending on how you prefer to use it, in a sub menu or along side the other context menu commands. Obviously you can check and uncheck items you wish to use and do not wish to use.

On a side note, you may want to go into TOOLS/Settings and change the check for updates to “Never” since this does not support free updates to avoid getting notices of updates.

    Hope this helps.

With due respect to Lopesoft, FileMenu Tools is horrible, horrible software. At least, for me. The concept is a much-needed tool, but this version is DANGEROUS! It needs a lot, I repeat, a lot! of improvement.

Downloaded, installed and registered with no problems. Backed up the registry before doing so.

Minor problem: The help file is pretty much useless.
•Under the tab “Commands and Other applications”, there is a check box for “Taskband pin”. Not having seen that term before, I checked the help file. No help. This is just one example. What is “ModernSharing”? What is ShdExt? …. Etc….. No help on the website, either.
•Wanted to remove several menu items installed by other software, such as McAfee’s “shred with”. Can’t seem to do it – can’t seem to find a way to add items.

Major problem: Unchecked several boxes in “Commands of FileMenuTools” and “Commands and Other applications”. Rebooted.
•The shortcuts on the taskbar no longer worked. EVERY shortcut had been changed to WinUtilities “ToolRegDefrag”. Could not open Widows Explorer, Task Manager, etc. When trying to open Registry Editor, got a message “The Registry Editor is not available” with a bunch of garbage in the window.
•It changed my default browser, lost all my extensions.
•Used Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager . Used it to start Widows Explorer and The Registry Editor. Tried to restore the registry three times. Each time nothing happened; each time after perhaps 30 seconds an error message appeared.
•Started to curse loudly and strongly. Started looking for a Restore Point link in Control Panel.

God must have heard me cursing – Kerish Doctor, a recent SOS giveaway, popped up and told me it had found and fixed 108 problems. Haven’t checked everything, but I seem to be back to pre- FileMenuTools. Even got my Firefox extensions back.

Thank you, God, Kerish Doctor, and Ashraff, the boss.

    Suggestions for Lopesoft :
    • Provide a helpful Help file.
    • Provide a System Restore option.
    • I use portable software whenever possible. If FMTools doesn’t’ catch these programs, hopefully it can be adapted to do so.

Looking forward to trying an improved version.

My system: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Intel i5-3570 CPU, 16 gig memory Using about 40%, 240 gig SSD 66% used.
