This program requires a password/ activation key. I need an activation key for this program to work. I installed the program as I was directed, closed the program and reopened it. The built in registration didn’t work to activate this program.

What happens if you lose the program, ie change of computer, and the company disappears, then no way to get their program back and therefore your encrypted files cannot be decrypted anymore.
Unfortunately, the program asks for a license key, simply enjoying it doesn’t work.

When you download and install “Hide Files” from SharewareOnSale, no license key is required, as it comes preactivated. However, if you previously installed an older version (we have offered it as a giveaway multiple times), you may have set a password. You will need to enter that password to access the software.
To completely reset the software, you may need to delete the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\VOVSOFT\Hide FilesPlease note that incorrect use of the Registry Editor can cause serious issues. Proceed with caution.
Followed the instructions given in the comments here and it installed, registered and worked perfectly.
