[@Daniel Georgiev] Thank you Daniel for trying to help me solve my problem. I did apply this method, but unfortunately it did not work. Yes, it worked for some users, bit it did not for other users, according to the comments found on the website where this issue was discussed(YouTube).

I am just puzzled why, all of a sudden, I have encountered this problem which did not exist before.

    Best Regards,

    @Daniel Georgiev Hello :)
I installed Iris this afternoon & to my surprise, it did NOT install on any of the ProgrammeFiles folders (x86 x64), it installed User/User/AppData/Local
I didn’t see any choice to change the path.
Did I do something wrong? Or is this normal?
And if so, why would a programme install itself anywhere else than the standard path?

    Thanks in advance
    Peace

    Tortuga,

The reason is because Program files requires Admin rights and many people who work at office don’t have them.

This way Iris can be installed on every PC

    Mr. Georgiev Hello :)
    Ah, right !
Thank you very much for your reply
Couldn’t there be some sort of warning, either on the site near the dwld link, or during install. I really panicked when I realized it wasn’t installed where it was supposed to be. So, uninstalled it right away.
I was also startled when the pop up advised the video card (or was it the graphic card?, sorry don’t remember) had been unlocked… (or words to that effect).
Maybe I shd have gotten more acquainted w the intricacies of the app before install.
    Peace

Installed Iris but did not get registration screen when I started it and therefore, no activation code. Please advise. Heard about the product on Ben Greenfield podcast and wanted to try it.

After some intensive detective work I discovered on my own that the issue I described in my original post was being caused by SecureAge software which I had installed a week earlier or so. Since I did not like SecureAge popups, I disabled it in a startup settings, thinking that this should not have any impact on my computer. Wroooooong.
It had, and it caused me a lot frustration when I was trying to install Iris, as it kept throwing at me the blooming message I mentioned in my first post above.

Disabled it was, but still causing me trouble. Nasty piece of programming.

I hope my finding will help some people who might experience a similar problem.

    Best Regards,

    P.S.

Iris had nothing to do with my problem. On the contrary, it helped me discover a serious issue caused by disabling SecureAge software in the startup settings. The only qualm I have about Iris is that it doesn’t allow you to choose the path where you want to install it. That’s a serious shortcoming.

Thanks for letting us use this program, however I missed that it requires Internet for registration (and probally some of the Pro features, like geolocation) -anyways it also works nice in the not pro version, thanks again :)

PS: I have to go to a local library to use internet for a short time, in case someone wondered :)

Additional explanation to my previous post.

Secureage is the name of the developer but, although it appears as such in Program Files folder, the actual program’s name that appears in the notification area is SecureAPlus. And because SecureAPlus was causing the problems I described above, I have uninstalled it for good. Everything is now working smoothly again. I am now able to run setups without any issues.

    Cheers,

    consuella
