Finally figured out how to activate it! However it still seems a program in development stages to me and 50% of it to be sorted in the future. Being 100% honest just don’t bother with this because if we can’t get updates it’s all rather pointless. Just invest in a full copy of 10bit Advance System Care which does a lot more…

[@Paul] I felt the same way about it. Very limited in options. Seems the real time part of it is nothing more than a reminder to press the clean button, they should at least add a scheduler for automatic cleaning.
Your right though, without being able to update and actually use all the “Coming Soon” features it is really useless IMO.

So, we’re Beta testers here now?

    Okay, [ Eldamar-Studio. com ], let’s see what you bought in [ Lorien-Desktop. com ] …

In Lorien Cleaner, when I click on an option in the options, the item below the item I am trying to click on toggles first, then when I click again without moving the mouse, then the item I am actually pointing at toggles – two for one! Yeah no, your programmers have a lot more work to do to troubleshoot their user interface management.

It offers customization that is nonsensical for my operating system, such as offering to turn off Cortana in Windows 7. So … I should trust your programmer’s savvy … because … ?

There are no descriptions of how it plans to optimise, such as “Speed-up computer startup” … oh yeah? … by doing what, by entering sleep mode instead of turning fully off when I turn the computer off? It needs to tell us exactly what it is going to do, otherwise there is absolutely no reason to trust this ( and folks know me, I seldom use adverbs, so this must be significant ).

“Purification pagingfile at shutdown”?!? … okay, they need a world-wide development newsgroup where folks can help them with translations along with helping vet out program misbehaviors, interface unpreparedness, and so on, to get this program ready for release, so, checkout the newsgroups at [ https ://www. grc. com/discussions. htm ] to see an example of how an engaged voluntary development and alpha / beta / release testing environment is done effectively.

Items to be cleaned are described as “New row” … yeah, this is more like Alpha testing … okay … there’s no click to show the specific line-items to be cleaned, such as what specific items are in “Program cache”, so who deletes stuff blindly? NOT ME.

Lorien, Lorien, Lorien … not to be insulting, but … before Alpha testing, there’s the pre-planning mode, where you, please, check out the competition FIRST and then come up with a workable scheme to be at least produce something equal to them, and then a scheme to be better, if you expect to make a living at this, otherwise, it’s a vanity project, and you’ll only get sales to folks who stumble upon you first and don’t search and compare.

    My rating:

Not Ready For Prime Time Yet, NRFPTY, Nerf Putty.

Thanks, but really? Alpha testing at SOS? This is not even in the pre-planning stage.

[@Peter Blaise] Thanks again for your insightful review – pointing out many areas where the developer needs to do more work (and thus reasons for us to avoid this for now).

I had good hopes for this when I saw it was from Eldamar Studio since I’m a fan of their fonts and background images/overlays. This is a very different area for them to work in. It’s also a very crowded area where most developers try very hard to find a way to differentiate themselves, and fail. Not telling users what the program does to their systems is the main reason for failure. Not giving them a choice of what to “clean”, especially until a user establishes trust with the program is the second reason. Third is releasing software that’s clearly not well tested, without asking us to help them alpha- or beta-test their product.

Eldamar has failed in all three of these areas already, and I haven’t even gotten to the things where many developers have trouble: deleting files that are needed/wanted, deleting registry entries that are needed/wanted, disabling services that are needed/wanted… Windows is a very complex operating system, full of dependencies that are not obvious. If a program can’t get the basics right, I see no reason to think they would do better with the functionality of a high-risk program that could easily corrupt a PC.

[@Dr. Know] Am so glad you proclaim you are being honest, and not just regular honest but 100% honest. Would otherwise have worried perhaps you were dishonest.

I dont find where to activate the license. Clicking on “Activate Program” link takes me to a web page where i dont find any place to enter the key either. It only shows to enter billing details and purchase.
Please help in activating the pro license key.

    For those unable to register:

    1. Click the Tool Symbol in the top right corner and then select the first option “Activate Program“.
    2. Enter the provided serial and your email address, then click ACTIVATE.
    3. Done.

    Wasn’t so hard, was it?

[@BreMM], activate doesn’t always appear, but buy pro appeared a couple of times for me, only the subsequent doing the exact same thing brought up activate.

See my comment about clicking on one thing and getting another – the user interface is in the pre-alpha stage.

Regardless of free or pro mode, more importantly, did you find anything useful and safe in the program?

Do you have alternatives to suggest, or is that a silly question considering the plethora of cleaners since Quarterdeck Clean Sweep virtually invented PC cleaners in, I dunno, the 1990s, 25+ years ago, and we all have experience of many different cleaners, Lorien’s attempt is nothing new or special in any way, in fact, it’s so incomplete as to make us question it being offered in the first place?

[@Cees], the only thing you did wrong was try to use the program, it does not appear to be ready for release, it appears to be in pre-development stage, so instead, use ANY other system cleaners, there are dozens of well-reviewed ones.
