I encountered 2 problems after installing the software. First, the software does not appear to accommodate 4K screen settings. The icons and text are difficult to read. Second, the “New Project” option does not appear in the home menu. The option presented is to open existing projects, and, of course, I have no existing projects to open.

As a user of this software previously, I am able to help with your statement regarding “New Project”. In order to start a new project, you simply click on “Home” and after selecting your scanner you click on “Scan Page” or “Batch Scan”. I love this program and it is really great to be able to scan several pages at one time by selecting the amount of seconds in between each scan wherein you are able to eliminate the procedure of clicking on the scanner button on your scanner each time to start a scan. Other features are more defined in the user guide that the company provides on line. Thank you Ashraf for this give away today.

I have read that ScanPaprus scans can be saved to MS Word. Please tell me how to do this.

Thank you for the information on the New Project issue. I’ll give it a try.

Another question if I may . . . will the software allow importing of existing PDF files? The help FEATURES information on the company home page indicate this can be done, but I haven’t been able to find how to import an existing file. Perhaps import is only available within an open project?

Thank you. I was able to get a new project started by scanning. Also, I was able to import another PDF file after I had a project open.

And a thank you to Ashraf for making the offer available.

    From their web site:
“If you want to recognize a document, ScanPapyrus allows you to use an OCR cloud service from the company ABBYY (http://www.abbyy.com). This company’s recognition algorithms have been developed for years and are perhaps the best in the world. They rarely make mistakes during recognition, retain as much formatting as possible and recognition does not take much time.

You will need an Internet connection to perform text recognition. Furthermore, access to the service is not free of charge by ABBYY. However, you can get 500 free pages at the first time you sign up on the recognition service.”

Program description itself is a bit misleading, but it has other useful features.
There are free open source OCR programs available.
