    [ @Ashraf] you claim:

“The Ultimate Digital Alibi: Uninterrupted, Hidden Recording.”

The recording is of the desktop that is no proof you were there moving and interacting via the mouse and keyboard, it could ALL have been pre-recorded using an activity recoding program or programed by a scripting language in autoit. It would need to simultaneously record using webcam and embed that Picture In Picture into the evidence that you were at the keyboard and mouse in front of the computer the whole time

“Performance Without the Panic: Lightweight and Zero-Drag Operation.”

Impossible to have “Zero-Drag Operation” maybe near zero-drag operation but not absolutely zero-drag everything including video capture and encoding demands CPU/GPU time that could otherwise be used.

“Professional Grade Precision: Mastering Bug Reporting and Compliance Documentation.”

“Professional Grade Precision” is ironing out ALL visible bugs before release so no NEED for Bug Reporting interface in the program itself! And Compliance with what laws or standards Documentation? The FACT it’s called Stealth screen recorder indicates it is non-compliant intent to record with consent ONLY making it potentially illegal in many jurisdictions and in certain circumstances where it might be legal in criminal law but illegal in terms of employment rights law and contracts.

“Storage Savior: High-Quality Encoding That Won’t Cripple Your SSD.”

Even using best available encoding HEVC is still going to mean millions of erase/write cycles consumed on your precious SSD… for what?

“Simplicity Meets Stability: A True Set-and-Forget Utility” That could cause a storage problem as well as privacy concern if you are hacked and video of all your activity for months gets into the hands of your attacker are all the videos generated encrypted and pass-phrase protected from malicious exploitation? NO of course not, security is the last thing on the developers mind!

Also your Supported Windows section is wrong again you only supply the 64bit edition not the 32Bit edition so the giveaway will NOT work on 32but Windows 7 to 10 or Server 2008 which the programs documentation claims it works on… which would mean it should work on Vista too as they are the same code-base. I think they mean Server 2008 R2 which corresponds with Windows 7 code-base. The programs documentation implies it comes in 32bit edition too but they only download 64bit binaries.

It’s not even using the best available codec but old H264 and it’s not true stealth recording as there are two instances of SSR.EXE visible when recording is going on one in the account of the logged in user and one in the SYSTEM “user” account easily viewable in task manager. It does use Intel AND NVIDIA GPU encoding though to reduce the CPU load. All revealed with the standard Task Master. Also utilities like Search Everything will expose video files being created too.

Don’t forget Windows 11 is supposed to be getting a similar facility built in with AI processing of the recordings… possibly optional but who knows with MS!

[@leone47] yes I noticed the Edge webview2 unusual web activity… one hopes it’s not abusing our systems data but as the communications are encrypted we cannot know without serious hard work and connectivity hacking on our systems.
