Why does program want to connect to Internet when it searches?

Well, well, well. Installed, tested, deleted. Yes, it is too slow and somewhat cumbersome. AgentRansack (free) or FileLocatorPro (paid) both run in circles around TextSeek.
    Thanks but no thanks.

    It is different from Filelocator.
In TextSeek, Zone mode searches faster than FileLocater while Easy mode is equivalent to FileLocator.

Well, I proceeded as instructed and downloaded TextSeek from the Shareware-On-Sale provided eMail link. I installed (via Revo Uninstaller) which went smoothly. Then, when running the app for the first time, it INSISTED on scanning my drives (C & D) to, I assume, to build an index of files. [I could have clicked the “modify” search function the first time but didn’t know what was to come next – i.e. a long search] When it finished my C drive, it began to index my D drive (which is a CLONE of my C drive) so I elected to Cancel the search, which it did immediately and closed itself down.

I started the app up again, then clicked the modify search button and set the search function to only look at specific areas on my primary C drive. So far so good, the search took off (after I clicked “start”) and after about 5+ minutes, the search completed, the main TextSeek screen appeared then a registration dialog box on top of it … I filled it out only to be greeted by a “The registration email or serial you submitted has something wrong” error message – so I couldn’t register the program.

Almost an hour wasted so thanks but no thanks – app deleted.

As a side note, I downloaded, installed and now have running “FileLocater Lite” by Mythicsoft as noted above by Luis (Thanks Luis). It’s free (for personal use), installs easily and runs like a charm.

It seems that everything goes well except for the registering. Today too many users are registering so maybe network is blocked and failed. Please contact [email protected] and we will check the problem.

FileLocator is just subset (easy mode) of TextSeek, and they are different.

Sorry, we only support 64 bits version app this time. We will consider 32 bit version if requirement is enough. Thanks for your suggestion.

I am disappointed because the program will not open the User Interface and thus prevents me from registering this program.
This has happened on my two 64 bit computers. So I decided to uninstall this piece of software!!!

    @TextSeek
When I saw this offered I was looking forward to trying it … again. I tried the one offered on March 8, 2019 on another giveaway site, but the program crashed over and over, with the Windows OS reporting that the program had stopped and it would notify me if there was a solution. I was never notified of a solution.

After reading the comments for this newer version, I see that the program has not progressed very far, and thus has stopped working for others, plus does not find simple things.

You don’t get an unlimited number of chance with me. I’m not your guinea pig nor beta tester. When you can produce a program that has rave reviews by all the users, then I might consider giving it another shot. In the meantime, wish you the best at creating a decent solution.

Why do you not try the new version? Most crash bugs have been fixed. You can see no crash report here for the new version.
