I find Zortam Music Studio to be stable and well-featured, including LYRICS, which really help ne appreciate new songs that I’m trying to understand.

I toggle back and forth between this and Musicbrainz Picard, which can bulldoze over my filename and tagging preference, can’t get full lyrics, but can find dates that Zortam doesn’t.

Then back to Zortam to rename files as “Artist Date Title.mp3” because I like to listen in an artist’s creation order.

The volume leveling does not seem to be respected on Apple iPhones — some song are too loud, and then some are too soft to hear, even after normalizing.

I wish there was a program that compresses dynamics so loud and soft are not so far apart.

I wish I could easily replace album artist with artist, or replace any one tag with another existing tag, in a batch across a whole group of files, because now, certain MP3 players regroup as “Various Artists” a single song I’ve copied out of a compilation album, and I’d rather the tag not show “Various Artists” for one song by a single artist, but I don;t want to manually cut and paste one tag at a time for thousands of files.

I have tried dozens of other automated look up and fix and complete and tag and organize music programs, folks may list them, but if they don’t work for my goals, I won’t list them.

There’s always more to do, programming and customization wise, but Zortam Music Studio is my prime tool, even though it sorely needs to fulfil the wishes I have listed above, and you may have your wishes, too.

List your wishes here, and maybe the next version will grow to include them!

Hi I have downloaded the program but it tells me “Invalid registration number or key.
When I click on the “Ok” I get the registration box where it asks for both the Name and License Key, entering these details which I got from your Checkout link or the confirmation email manually takes me back to the “Invalid registration number or key.” box.

On start of the program, it says that a new version is available (24.70), at the top of the main window, it says it’s version 24.00, not 24.70. The registration details don’t work for the 24.70 demo from the homepage.

    What now?

    Thank you for your review.

For volume leveling check this video tutorial on YouTube.

[@zortam support] thanks, but my Apple iPhone 5s v11.4.1 (15G77) still plays one song blasting loud, and the next song so faint I can hardly hear it, both songs “normalized” in Zortam Music Studio.

Moreover, I’d like a loudness compressor and loudness compensator ( as Yamaha developed for the audio marketplace years ago ), which I understand is really the responsibility of playback software programmers, but if they aren’t gonna do it, why not Zortam, as either a re-recording skill for files, or build your own playback software that has these sorely needed features for other company’s devices.

It’s great that you are starting to explore demo videos, and I appreciate that for a world of different languages that you have no voice-over explaining what’s going on, but without a voice-over or text headlines added, I have no idea where to skip to in any video, I have no idea what you are showing, and sadly, you present HD 720 fine print, not a 640 x 480 video presentation with large details in your program windows, so everything appears fine-print and hard to read, and unless I watch in HD quality, which does not play smoothly over the web, I can’t even read what’s happening on screen.

( I’ll download them with free AbelsSoft YouTube Song Downloader and watch them later, so that when they read from my hard drive, they play smoothly. )

Making YouTube videos that communicate effectively is a challenge — keep at it, and take notes from other people’s videos that you like, and also take notes from other people’s videos that you do not like.
    __________

And, no, I did not see a listing for a video explaining how to auto-batch-copy the contents of the [ Artist ] field into the to [ Album Artist ] field, which I would like to do for one let alone dozens and hundreds of files.
    __________

Also, I’d like an auto fine-tuned [ Date ] field in YYYY-MM-DD order so I can put a more precise date in the filename, Musicbrainz Picard does get a release date with YYYY-MM-DD precision, my goal is to AUTO tag and rename files to look like this:

Joni Mitchel 1998-03-05 Blue … ( later release of an initial studio outtake )
Joni Mitchel 1998-11-05 Blue … ( first actual public album release )
    Joni Mitchel 2003-10-15 Blue … ( first CD re-mastering )
    Joni Mitchel 2012-04-12 Blue … ( live performance )

Then my archive will be in order like any library should be, and I search, sort, and select by any criteria, and I can listen to any artist in order of their development from young(er) to old(er) and witness their development of their artistic qualities, tallent, skill, and choices.

    As I wrote:

“… I find Zortam Music Studio to be stable and well-featured, including LYRICS, which really help me appreciate new songs that I’m trying to understand. I toggle back and forth between this and Musicbrainz Picard, which has at least 2 problems, it can bulldoze over my filename and tagging preference, and it can’t get full lyrics, but it can find dates that Zortam doesn’t. So, I then go back to Zortam to rename files as “Artist Date Title.mp3” because I like to listen in an artist’s creation order …”.

I hope Zortam continues to lead in not only stability and power, but also increasing customizability, and perhaps to lead the entire music library industry into some form of coherency … rather than just being a note-taker and follower of other people awful non-standards for how to identify any musical presentation, and catalog it findably in an ever-growing music library.

Thanks — keep up the good work, more please!
