A-EFIS makes use of state-of-the-art stochastic models and advanced digital filtering methods in order to estimate the airplane's attitude and other properties with exceptional accuracy and robustness.

A-EFIS includes the following instruments:
- Attitude Indicator (AHRS)
- Slip indicator
- Magnetic compass
- Turn coordinator
- True course indicator
- Ground speed, altitude and vario indicator based on GPS

For correct operation with the internal sensors of your mobile phone/tablet, your device must be equipped at least with a 3-axis gyroscope, a 3-axis accelerometer, a magnetic compass and a GPS receiver. For barometric altitude and barometric vertical speed, your device must also have a pressure sensor.
A-EFIS can also be used with an AEOLUS external sensor box, from Talos Avionics. When used with an AEOLUS device, A-EFIS will also display Indicated Air Speed (IAS), Outside Air Temperature (OAT) and True Air Speed (TAS). Depending on the Aeolus model, A-EFIS may also display traffic and weather information via ADS-B. For more information, check Talos Avionics home page.
