You play the role of a "Defender" - a government official whose job is to prevent the "Climbers" from reaching the top of your wall. The Climbers are actually volunteers for whom the show is the chance for medical attention since social insurance has been abolished in their country. The Climber who manages to reach the top of the wall and hack you with his axe is granted a full-scale health-insurance for life.
To prevent this, you can drop metal balls onto the climbers. As a last line of defense, you can also slash them with your chainsaw as soon as they reach the top of the wall.
The game is inspired by classical 8-bit games. Therefore it features 100! catchy 8-bit tunes. From level 1 to 6, a fixed sequence of tunes is played. In level 7 and above, a random tune is played from the remaining set of 94 tunes. This means you have to work hard until you have heard all 100 tunes ;-).
An average run of "Climbers of Fortune" will last about 10min - hence it is an ideal option for recreative breaks during your work time ;-)
