1 The ENTOPTIC APP is designed to create patterns and images in your "mind's eye" by stimulating your senses via sound and light.
This app is created for smartphone devices.
Close your eyes, and enjoy the various images created by the light and sound.
The app will play a moving image which can be viewed via VR glasses appropriate for your device, or by simply placing your phone, screen facing down, on your eyes.
Choose the length of the video and press play. There is a 15-second delay before the video starts, which allows you to prepare your headphones and your VR glasses.
We recommend you use this app lying down, preferably in a dark room.
Please adjust the volume and brightness using the settings on your device.
Due to the stroboscopic effects, small children and people with disposition to epileptic seizures should not use this application. A warning has been included in the application for user safety.

2 The Entoptic App as a "Mind Machine" For the 21st Century
An electronic device known as the "mind machine" gained popularity during the latter half of the 20th Century. Using pulsing rhythmic sound, flashing light, electrical or magnetic fields, or a combination of these, mind machines are said to alter the frequency of the user's brainwaves.
Along with deep states of relaxation, mind machines are said to also induce concentration, and in some cases altered states of consciousness, which have been compared to those experienced during meditation or meditative practices.
By the 1980s mind machines known as "synchro-energizers" were patented and released as a commercial product, becoming successful in several countries including the US, the UK and Japan. Machines like these were associated with meditative and "body work" practices of the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California.
