While there are online sources that allow the user to select a beer style or beer to see information about it, along with complimentary food styles, we know that many times people decide what type of food or meal to have first, and then decide on a beverage and sometimes dessert. People say “….what sounds good for dinner, or lunch?” And they figure out what they want to eat. So rather than creating an app that starts with a beer selection, we designed this app in the reverse order. The Grub N Brew app was designed to allow the user to first select the type of food they will be preparing and/or eating, and provide a quick yet thorough reference for beers that best compliment the style of food the user selects. The Grub N Brew app pairs eight food styles with a selection of complimentary beer styles and specific beer examples within each style. What makes Grub N Brew Matcher different from other apps that display this information is that with Grub N Brew Matcher, the user can then view detailed information on each beer including a link to the brewer’s website and, for some beers, a button that takes the user to the online ordering page for that beer. Check online ordering websites shipping information for States that they don’t ship to.
The information source for complimentary foods for beer styles was the “Total Wine Guide to Beer” provided by the Total Wine & More liquor store. Most beers have multiple complimentary food styles, but we selected the first or second food style on the list. We then referenced www.beeradvocate.com in creating the list of examples of specific beers within each style, as well as the specific information for each of these beers. IBU ratings often had to be found elsewhere.
Information on 136 different beers total is included in the Grub N Brew app. Styles that list less common beers offer at least one that is available online and a link to the online ordering page for that beer is included. The online ordering sites include: halftimebeverage.com, france44.com, brewforia.com, & bierkraft.com.

Before confirming purchase of alcohol online, check the website to verify they can delivery to your State.).
Benefit: This provides the user with information that will aid in deciding which beers to try and how to store and serve the ones they select to buy. Beyond simply providing a food/beer pairing guide, this app is designed to provide detailed information on each beer in an easy to read layout.
