You can hear exact pronunciations of Korean vowels and consonants, and learn the mouth shape and the place of articulation of each word included in the application by watching videos. Hanmal can be used as a material for Korean phonetics courses as well as self-education.

Detail of function

1) Listening to exact pronunciations of vowels and consonants
You can hear pronunciations of Korean vowels and consonants. Phonemes of Korean language consist of 8 single vowels, 10 complex vowels and 15 consonants. You can identify pronunciations of consonants and vowels by reading the words. You can learn the correct way of pronouncing each word, because words included in the application are set in consideration of phonological environments of each vowels and consonants.

2) Understanding the manner of articulation through videos
You can learn not only how each word sounds, but also the accurate shape of mouth when pronouncing it. Videos of mouth shapes viewed from the front and side are provided. When you pronounce consonants and vowels, you can learn more accurate pronunciation by checking the mouth shape. Viewing mouth shapes will help you pronounce better.

3) Understanding the place of articulation through videos
Hanmal provides the place of articulation of each vowel and consonants . Learning the exact place of articulation will help you improve your pronunciation.
