About Cheyenne L Rouse
Award Winning Photographer, Cheyenne L Rouse has been shooting professionally since 1989 when she started her career photographing adventure sports and outdoor recreation stock photography. From 1989 – 2003 many of her photos were published worldwide in magazines, books and ad campaigns. Her impressive list of clients include, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Subaru Drive Magazine, Outdoor Research, Gear, US Postal Service, Outside Magazine, Back Roads Bike Tours, Eagle Creek Gear and the list goes on.
In 2003, Cheyenne hung up her mountain climbing boots and film camera for a much needed break. She soon found that she missed not only having a camera in her hand but she also missed the creative process. Then in 2008, Cheyenne picked up her camera again, this time digital; her creative sparks reignited fresh, new and bold! A proven master of technique, she's taking Digital Fine Art Photography into exciting, powerful and new directions. With her unique vision, she captures the subtle moods, the textures, and maybe the ghosts that live on somehow in the rusted, abandoned artifacts of The Old West. Using the whispers of light, color and form, she captures these awe-inspiring landscapes with magical precision.
Cheyenne is also a published author with a list of books, ebooks and articles to her name as well as a “Photo Tips” column for a regional publication. In addition, she has just completed a series of eGuidebooks entitled; “Cheyenne’s Top 10 Photo Locations” – the first two titles in the series are “Southern Utah” and “New Mexico” with Arizona and other locations on the way. Cheyenne is a master of finding the perfect location for the perfect photo and leading her readers to the perfect spot. She has been exploring the Southwest with her camera for over 23 years and has become known not only for her stunning landscape photos of the region but for her nostalgic images of old trucks, Route 66 memorabilia and Old West detail. Cheyenne’s photos of old trucks were even featured on AAA’s Highroads with Dan Davis, A 30 minute travel and lifestyle TV show about interesting things to see and do in Arizona.
Photographing The Legend, The Lore and The Landscapes of the Great American Southwest, Cheyenne is passionate about what she feels so fortunate to do for a living. As a sponsored HDR Specialist for Photomatix HDR software, Cheyenne conducts Photomatix HDR training classes both online and privately to individuals. She also is called upon to speak for many corporations, groups and camera clubs and share her inspiring “The Journey Back to Creativity” presentation. As the former owner of Ancient Light Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona Cheyenne now travels and leads Photo Workshops & Tours throughout the Southwest to some of the most scenic locations in the region, such as Sedona, AZ; White Sands, NM and Moab, UT just to name a few.
