Reviews for Sothink Blu-ray Creator
Despite the shift from Blu-ray players, they still maintain a place in the home entrainment sections of many individuals. As such, you may find it necessary to convert a good number of videos to suit your player’s needs. Having mentioned that, I did try out the Sothink Blu-ray Creator. Read about my experience and take on the software below.
At a Glance
Downloading, installing and launching Sothink Blu-ray Creator for the first time was pretty smooth. The software has clean interface that makes it easy to start using it right away. You can either drag and drop a file to the main window or use the Plus sign to add one. After that, it is all about choosing the output format; movie folder or ISO image file. A Task Queue feature at the top right of the main window will track the number of task you are yet to perform.
Pros
Handy Common Features
From the dropdown option on the top right size of the main window of Sothink Blu-ray Creator, you will access Common Settings. For my use, I found such settings helpful. Under the General, I was able to select options like Temporary Directory, the number of CPU cores running for Sothink Blu-ray Creator, and Enabling hardware accelation.
The Drives tab also had pretty good options to choose from. For instance, the software will let you choose the Burning Engine, Write Speed, Customize Writable Media, and choose to Enable or Disable overwriting on rewritable media.
Impressive Processing Speeds
I was impressed by Sothink Blu-ray Creator’s support for batch processing. That was not all, the software also took a short time reading and analysis files from the source. Although the final processing time usually depend on factors like your computer’s processing speed, the average time for Sothink Blu-ray Creator to copy was between 10 to 20 minutes. Also, beware of the fact that the size of the source and the writing speed of your drive will also influence the speeds.
Supports a Vast Number of Video File Types
While using Sothink Blu-ray Creator, I enjoyed its versatility. This was because of the software’s ability to support many video file types. Just but to mention the video files I tried, the program was able to work with FLV, M4V, VOB, MOV, MKV, AVI, MP4, WMA, TS, 3GP, M2TS, and WMV. It also supports audio files like FLAC and MP3.
High Quality Output Videos
A couple of times, I converted videos recorded using a camcorder. Although the source videos were not that clear, Sothink Blu-ray Creator managed to convert them into high quality Blu-ray videos. During the creation process, the software also lets you customize the titles of the videos. At the same time, I preferred my Blu-ray videos to ‘Start from menu and play all titles sequentially’ on the Playback mode.
Verdict
Sothink Blu-ray Creator will be handy tool for converting almost any video type to suit your needs if you plan to continue using Blu-ray player. The ease of use, clean interface and relatively fast creation process are things that would probably draw you into liking the software even more.
