( so you did read my entire diatribe ! )

I have not used Connectivity Fixer Pro in 7 years,
because everything else offered by other programmers,
and self-managed tips and tricks, have bested Connectivity Fixer.

It’s not as if Connectivity Fixer Pro has been working
for 7 years for me yet I did not notice.

Today I replaced a bad cable, and rebuilt IPv6 and IPv4
connectivity, none of which Badosoft Connectivity Fixer
    helped me with.

I look at the Connectivity Fixer Pro log, and all it
    says is “Problem Fixed!”.

What “problem”, I had no “problem” that I was aware of,
and Connectivity Fixer did NOT give any specifics to
    brag about, here’s the log:

Thank you, Connectivity Fixer Pro, … buutt … what
did you see, what did you do,
and why is it reoccurring, and not fix it by
    preventing it from happening again?

Stable … so what is unstable, specifically?

Improved … so what is unimproved, specifically?

Interferences … so what are Interferences,
and how do you know, and why did you not …

… wait a minute, Connectivity Fixer Pro logs just say stable,
    improved, interferences, not that
Connectivity Fixer Pro actually fixed anything, as you
say instead, “monitor”,but dd these things come and go
on their own, … but what did Connectivity Fixer Pro
actually find was wrong, and what did Connectivity Fixer
Pro actually do the fix anything, and why did it not fix
things permanently … or did Connectivity Fixer Pro just
watch and report as tings wandered between good connection
    ( measured how ? ) and bad connection ( measured how ? )?

Is Connectivity Fixer Pro making only temporary virtual
repairs in virtual machine that never make it to the
actual computer and so they disappear when Connectivity
Fixer Pro is not running, as an attempt to NOT permanently
fix a computer or connection, but to only fix a virtual
session, and thereby make the end user addicted to a
broken computer and broken connection that is patched
temporarily by an active Connectivity Fixer Pro virtual
    set of fixes?

So perhaps Connectivity Fixer logs can be useful in
watching to see if externally applied fixes take hold or
fail, fixes from non Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro methods:
    – see an error in Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro
    – repair it with an external tool,
    – see if the error returns or is gone, rally gone, forever.

So, Badosoft, you have your feedback:

    From others:

1 – Registration and fighting with email providers seems
out of step with other program vendor’s success.
2 – Program presentation in low contrast and fine print
compromises user command and control of the program.

    Additionally from me:

3 – Unsure whether or not Connectivity Fixer Pro an be
used to fix a existing broken Internet connection, or
just monitor a working Internet connection, more
    accurately renamed Connection Monitor.
4 – “ignore the man behind the green curtain” magic,
hiding whatever Connectivity Fixer Pro sees and does.

And we SOS participants have our gratuitous impression of Badosoft.

    = = = = = = = = = =

    Alternatives:

    – Free Badosoft Connectivity Fixer NOT Pro *
    – Free [ Tweaking. com ] Repair Winsock and DNS Cache, plus their Windows Repair has a repair network option, plus other stuff.
    – Free [ IObit. com] Driver Booster, and our PC maker and network interface makers, all have free updated drivers.
    – Free Microsoft IPv4 versus IPv6 controls, see [ https :// support. microsoft. com/en-us/help/929852/guidance-for-configuring-ipv6-in-windows-for-advanced-users ], yes, downloadable programs, finally.
    – Free, old, maybe findable, Microsoft Fixit 50203 for repairing a corrupted Winsock,
    – Free Waresoft XP/7-Smoker TCP/IP repair up to v2.2,
    – not free new cables, and cable testers,
    – free power cycle our own router, Belkin does this every Tuesday morning,
    – not free [ Caig. com ] DeoxIT D5S-6, with petroleum naphtha as the carrier solvent or the new DeoxIT DN5 DN5S-6N, which is non-flammable, non-drip and safe on plastics, these are connector cleaners and preservatives,
    – Free Option^Explicit Software Winsock Fix v1.1.0.13,
    – Free [ d7xtech. com ] WinsockReset,
    – Free [ Speedguide. net ] TCP Optimizer,
    – Free DNS tools, web search for many, I like th einsight gained from free [ GRC. com ] DNSbench,
    – Free HOST tools, web search for many, I like the editor-auto-filler in free [ Safer-Networking. orgm ] Spybot Search & Destroy v1.62,
    – so much more out there.

    = = = = = = = = = =

Not: the free version of Badosoft Connectivity Fixer
does NOT contain these Pro features:
    – Log activities ( but no explicit details )
    – Reset TCP/IP Internet Protocol
    – Renew Internet Connections
    – Renew Winsock
    – Flush DNS Resolver cache
    – Restore Hosts file
    – Reset Windows Firewall
    – Repair DNS Problems
    – Fix Internet Explorer ( makes it fast, compatible, and safe … just kidding )
    – Clean IE Cache
    – Network information ( or blank for me )
    – IP info or blank for me )
    – Snide-free support

The free version of Badosoft Connectivity Fixer
maybe might possibly could perhaps be installable on
a computer that is off the Internet, in the hopes of
fixing and reconnecting that isolated computer’s
Internet connection … but, if there is a way to
use the extra tools from the Pro version on an
isolated computer, Badosoft has not helped in this
thread, so we’re on our own, hence my list of alternatives.

    Enjoy, fellow SOS participants.

Please check in and share what’s not just failing,
    but what’s working, too.

    Thanks to everyone.

Umm … why, when I double-click on the desktop icon to raise the program, does it load a second separate copy of the program … and when I double-click again, a third copy of the program loads … does it mot see itself already loaded from the first time?

Is there something seriously dysfunctional in the SOS version ( or the Pro version altogether ) of BadoSoft Connectivity Fixer Pro?

Yup, they’ve each got different logs from each other, they are out of sync in their [ Netinfo ], their settings are different, as if the second does not inherit any knowledge of the first, then a popup says there’s a connection problem, it seems to be a popup from the second version in memory, I tell it to go ahead and fix the problem, and the log for the second version shows “fixed”. while the first version in memory has been happy and dormant during the entire time.

So … Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro v2.2 for others acquired outside of this SOS offering … how does that behave? Doe anyone know? Should we SOS folks submit bug reports to Badosoft Helpdesk ( hey, jut to help them out, not expecting free support, especially after reading prior posts, just reporting misbehavior ), or is the SOS version so different that the only really relevant place to submit reports of misbehavior are here, since non-SOS acquisitions of the software will not experience the same misbehavior?

Should I keep clicking on the desktop icon and see how many separate copies of BadoSoft Connectivity Fixer Pro will load into memory and fill up and use all computer resources?

The last loaded one seems to be the boss, as the prior loaded ones still im memory seem to never see the “problems” the last loaded one sees – I’m guessing th elast instance sees the effects of the prior instances as the prior instances check the connection, ping, and whatever, and the last instance sees that as a problem to be fixed, then the first instances quiesce, and the last instance says “hey, I fixed it!” when actually, it did nothing but observe the comings and goings of the first instance(s).

I do not see this situation or condition under [ Bugs ] or [ Known Issues ] at the Badosoft Helpdesk.

I wasn’t trying to break it, it’s just that with an auto-hiding-task-bar, I was trying to bring the program window back on screen … click-click the desktop icon, and it starts a fresh copy, click-click again, and another fresh copy, and so on, and so on …

How to control this … the Pro version of a totally unrelated program from another vendor, Bitsum Process Lasso, offers to limit the number of instances of any program, does anyone know of another way to prevent accidental multiple instances of Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro?

And, by the way, what “fixes” did the second loaded instance of Badosoft Connectivity Pro think it applied that the first loaded instance missed?

And of course, Internet connectivity is gone while the multiple instances of Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro fight it out, so if anyone has a dead Internet when using this, check [ Task Manager ] to see if there are multiple instances loaded and running.

I guess I can use [ Task Manager ] to kill them all and restart just one, and remember this quirky behavior.

And, yes, it’s possible to have more than one autoload during startup, it’s easy to find them in Run, Startup, and Task Scheduler, I see 5 listed so far.

    What does this fix, again?

Hahahaha – yes, and this morning after fresh reboot, I rediscovered that
Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro v2.2 build 31 for SOS:
    – it still fails to know my IP address,
    – fails to see both network adapters, wireless and wired,
    – fails to stay or even offer to stay in the system tray when [ X ]-ing the user interface window,
    – when re-opening, fails to monitor the system,
    – fails to remember checked preferences in [ Settings ],
    – loads as many as 3 separate instances into memory before I killed them all,
    – loads in run and scheduled tasks, I’ll kill those, reboot, and try again,
    – wrote to user start menu in spite of installation being told to install for all users,
    – in settings, does not respond to click on the radio buttons, have to click the words next to the button,

    I’ll reboot.

Part of my chagrin is that this is only at v2.2 build 31 2020-05-25 … after 7 years … and it’s still not mature or aware in it’s on-screen presentation, not stable, and does not appear to even expand to include any enhanced features since v1.1 build 0.0 from 8 years ago, 2012-06-14, where we can see in task manager it’s self-initiated endless calls to ipconfig /release and /renew, and it’s calls to netsh when it tries to fix things.

I note that the free version form the Badosoft web site is up to v2.3.0.27 or v2.3.0.98 – ish, have they moved on from the v2.2 offered here?

    – – – – – – – – – –

In response to [@Badosoft] who wrote “… If you experience any issues … you may submit a support ticket at our website, we will try to respond. Also any feedback is always welcome through our contact form at our website …”

Yes, I noticed from 8 years ago in an email from Badosoft with my first license, “… * Note that we do not provide Ticket and Live Support for products promoted via giveaway … Register a free Badosoft account and receive faster & better support, read important messages and news about our products and become eligable for other promotions! As registered user you have the following benefits: • Licence management • Ticket support …”

I’ll do that again, though the beauty of the SOS forum here is sharing with not only the vendor, but also with fellow SOS participants, we come here to pool our experience and knowledge together, not just take care of ourselves — WE not ME — so I’ll report back here, folks, with what happens at the Badosoft Helpdesk.

    — What did you find that’s not to agree with?

    — What “runs fine and works well” did you find for you, what broken ( speaking of “blotted windows” ) did it find and fix, and keep fixed, for you?

Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro “runs fine” for me, too, and has for 8 years.

    And that’s the point.

Its been 8 years, and the only thing new-ish in 8 years is misbehavior, especially registration delays ( my first attempt to get a license produced nothing, so I tried another email, got an instant license, then the original email request response arrived 14 hours later, doh! ) even on a fresh install of Windows 7 64 Pro on an HP i5 laptop ( clean new install with only Google Chrome browser added before trying Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro, I connect wireless and wired, Badosoft Connectivity Fixer Pro v2.2 build 31 for SOS cannot resolve the IP address, and sees only the wired connection, and only offers to switch to … the same wired connection, doh! ).

    You tell us:
    – can you toggle between different network connections, wired and wireless, in the [ Netinfo ] section?
    – can you open more than one instance, can you make multiple instances that no longer know what they are doing?
    – have you gotten any [ Logs ] of activity, or any useful information from within the logs?
    – if you’re on the Internet already, what do you expect this to do that indicates it “runs fine and works well”?
    – have you read other folk’s frustrations getting the offered license?
    – have you read other’s frustrations getting a disconnected computer to be connected to the Internet?
    – have you read Badosoft’s response here, from the initial equivalent of your “Get a life”, to the subsequent equivalent of “ooops, sorry, yes, contact us with problems, we want to know, and we want to help” ?

All we are offering Badosoft is free feedback, sharing our experience with each other, keeping SOS up to speed as a referential place to go to explore and share about new ( and maybe about 8-year-old ) software.

    Plus, as always, alternatives.

    You’re welcome.

Play with it, try to break it, give us all something more than “runs fine and works well”, tell us in what ways it “runs fine and works well” for you.

Thanks for exploring this and sharing.

Regarding your dismissive “troll” comment, I just did a look-see Google search for [ “peter blaise” site:sharewareonsale.com ] and read 140+ examples of my participation here, and of course try [ “peter blaise” site:giveawayoftheday.com ] too, where we all first met Ashraf before Ashraf started SOS, for 900+ examples of my participation in what I call the “spontaneous beta test community” over the years ( Ashraf has 7,000+ examples at GOTD … is Ashraf a “troll”, too, are we all “trolls” in someone else’s mind? ), especially see [ https ://www. giveawayoftheday. com/connectivity-fixer-pro-11/ ] with 100+ posts from 8 years ago, re-reading it feels so … contemporaneous — it’s all good reading if I do say so myself, and what a delight to see “… Enjoy & Prosper!! Cheers from Italy!! Giovanni …” — thanks for the provocation, [@Christian].
