The dev is having some problems posting here so asked me to post these two comments for him:
Windows XP was supported in the past. It’s unsupported now, because of the new UI.

Just tested the activation and it works fine on my computer. Make sure that there is no spaces in the activation code and try again. The time in the up right corner will change after activation :)[@Scott] Reading must be hard for you.

This a SCAM. Fortunately I am leary of FREE offers. Read the fine print and you will learn that in 6 months you will be billed for an auto renewal – my guess at Full retail which no one should ever pay. McAfee is always on sale somewhere.
